Kate Martin, Class of 2021
Early Education, Minor in Literacy Education & Youth Empowerment
"I have been riding for most of my life and it has always been an individual sport for me, so to find a group of strong women (and men!) who share my passion for the sport has been such a blessing in my life! I have learned so much from all of the people on our team, especially those who are just entering the equestrian world! I was worried that I would have to give up horses coming into college, but instead I gained a team of incredible riders and horses."

"I am very fortunate that I have been riding since I was three years old; most of which have been at a barn run by my grandmother. In the last few years, I have won champion in AHS for modified hunter and then 2’6 hunter. For the past six years I have been training the beginners and younger kids at the barn. I also train the rescue horses we get, helping them get well enough to either get adopted or get incorporated into our lesson program. I was very excited to get the opportunity to continue to ride throughout college when I joined the WCU team my freshman year.It was a good way to meet a lot of new friends who share a similar interest. I’m looking forward to pointing out into novice this year and getting more involved with the team!"
Emma Meister, Class of 2021
Political Science
"Growing up in Chester County, I had the privilege of fox hunting, showing locally, and pony racing throughout my childhood. During high school, I was lucky enough to enjoy three years in the jumper ring across Zone II. When I began classes at West Chester, my job with racehorses in combination with a college workload kept me very busy. However, the opportunity to join WCUET has granted me time in the saddle and the option to ride with a group of diverse, hardworking, and talented students. The values of teamwork, attention to detail, and the emphasis on fundamental skills in equitation have helped me grow monumentally as a rider and horsewoman. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this fabulous and FUN team!"
Jordan Creamer, Class of 2020

"Riding is a passion I had since I was younger but was fortunate enough to get back into when joining the WCU Equestrian Team. Over the two years I've been on the team I have learned so much and met so many friends with the same interest! This past season I was able to point out of Walk-Trot and advance to Regionals, Zones, and finally Nationals! Riding at Nationals in Syracuse, NY was an amazing experience that I am so happy I was able to have. I am looking forward to what my last year on the team will bring!"
